To Regist or enter Chat Room Please read the
following conditions then click "agree"
By entering this chat room you agree to be 13 or over and/or participating in the presence of a parent or guardian. All users must read the below instructions and agree to all chat room rules listed below:
All users under 18 should participate in these chat rooms under the supervision of their parents. Although we do staff moderators in this chat room, they cannot be on every minute of the day. Please do not give out any personal information to anyone, (i.e where you live, your school, telephone number etc) no matter how much you think you can trust them.
Never arrange to meet someone offline unless you are sure who they are; go accompanied (if you are under 18 by your parent or carer); and meet in a public place.
If you are experiencing any problems with another user, please contact a moderator or webmaster (hyperlinks) immediately. Listen to the chat moderator. Do not use sex related Nicknames. (NO pimps or pimpests...) Do not cuss.
You might get a warning, or you might get banned right away. Do not pick on people. Do not post links to other chat sites. Remember you don't know who you are chatting to, even if they say they know you. Be cautious of people who ask you too many personal Qs - especially if they won’t stop asking, even after you’ve told them no. If anyone online asks things that make you uncomfortable, nervous or scared, stop communicating with them and tell your parents.
You can also send us an email moderator@bcckids.org . Be sure to include their "nickname" and some details about what happened. Never agree to meet an online "buddy" f2f (face to face) unless your parents know about it and say it is okay.
Don’t talk to anyone on the phone unless you parents say it is okay. Always tell your parents when someone asks to meet you or call you. If you ever find a link on this chat room that you think doesn’t belong (it has bad language or pics) email us right away and be sure to attach the URL.
Don't ever post pics of yourself or your friends and family. Always read the Chat and Bulletin Board rules and guidelines before entering. This is important stuff to know otherwise you may break the rules and get kicked off. Talk to a parent before downloading anything from the net. Don't believe everything you read. Lots of people like to make up stuff when they are online. It’s important to remember that the people you are chatting with may not be telling the truth about themselves.
This chat room is a place where you can discuss what You want. But we want you all to have a great experience and in order for that to happen there have to be some guidelines. Nothing big, just common sense mostly. Our monitors are going to be tough on people who are kill-joys and rule breakers so take a sec to read them over.
Netiquette – Rules of the Road
We do not tolerate harassment of any kind in the chats and on the boards. This means no discrimination against people who are a different race than you, a different gender than you or different anything from you.
No spamming! Don't write the same thing over and over. Don't write the same thing over and over. Don't write the same thing over and over. Don't… Get it? Pretty annoying, huh? And you can really ruin other people’s conversations.
While we're on the topic - don't start chatting about how you don't like the other chatters or how they spell or what the topic is … Nobody likes a whiner!
Don't swear or say gross and rude things. You might think it's funny but I bet a lot of other members don't and the monitors won't either. You will get the boot. Don't make sexually explicit comments. This isn't hustler. ‘Nuff said.
Don't post htmls on our boards or in our chats. We have no way of knowing where you are sending someone or if it is safe so we don’t allow people to connect to outside htmls. Do not give out your personal info. This means never tell people things like your real name, your age, your address, your digits (phone number). This also means don't give out something as simple as your town name. Sure, say you live in Florida, but don't say Daytona cuz that totally narrows the scope and someone could find ya pretty easy.
Email addresses are a big no-no too. People can get background info on you from them. Respect the topic in the room. When there is a specific topic in the chat room - like the latest Usher album - don't log on and start barking about Gwen Stefani. Both singers are great but only one is of interest to the fellow chatters. Ignore. Just click on the person's nickname and click "ignore."
DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS. Why? Cuz you are yelling at them. That's what all caps is used for. Don't be offended if people don't greet you right away. Some people are just really involved in their conversations and might not have noticed you are there. Go ahead and say hi. Listen. Take the time to listen to what people are chatting about so that you can make good comments. Also give people a chance to respond to what you have asked. Sometimes it may take people a minute to think of a response and type it out.
