PPEC Names New Director of Nursing

POMPANO BEACH FL (9.26.08) – Janelle Andruskiewicz, RN, BSN, has joined Broward Children’s Center as the Director of Nursing for the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care program (PPEC). Ms. Andruskeiwicz comes to the Center with many years of pediatric special needs experience.
Ms. Andruskeiwicz is responsible for the daily operations of the PPEC program at Broward Children’s Center, which provides childcare for children with complex medical needs.
“I am very excited to be a part of the PPEC team. I look forward to continuing the quality of service this program offers to the community and to the special children and families we serve,” said Andruskeiwicz.
Ms. Andruskeiwicz graduated from Purdue University in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Most recently she worked at the Heart Center at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, caring for critically ill children with congenital heart defects and at Broward General Hospital on the general pediatric floor.
Janelle joined Broward Children’s Center last school year as the RN supervisor of the School Health Program before taking the position as the Director of Nursing at PPEC. She has also worked the past two full summers as the lead nurse at a camp for children with disabilities affiliated with Riley Hospital for Children in Indiana.
“We are thrilled to have Janelle as part of the PPEC team and are looking forward to serving more families through our program,” said LaShawn McCray, Director of Medical Operations at Broward Children’s Center.
