Thor Barraclough joined the Broward Children’s Center’s Foundation in 2004. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in both Public Relations and Journalism from Australia’s Curtin University and a Master's degree in Public Health from Florida International University. He is currently seeking his PhD in Public Health at Florida International University. Thor is responsible for the foundation's communication and outreach activities, including fundraising, grant writing, information technology, and developing communications strategies with program staff. Thor joined the foundation in 2004 after operating his own nonprofit communications consultancy. Previously, he was the Communications Associate with the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Thor has worked for nonprofits, national newspapers, and public relations firms in the United States, United Kingdom and Australia. Thor is an International FAVACA and Habitat for Humanity volunteer and pro bono consultant to the Lelestang Hospital in Haiti. Thor is a Board Member of Horses and the Handicapped and a graduate of Leadership Fort Lauderdale XVI.
For more than 37 years, Broward Children’s Center has been providing medical, educational, and advocacy services to infants, children, and young adults with special needs.
