POMPANO BEACH FL (02.29.08)- The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities has announced that Broward Children’s Center’s skilled nursing facility (CompCare) has been awarded its highest level of reaccreditation.
The CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) recertification has been awarded to the Center after an in-depth audit of its services to make sure it meets rigorous guidelines for service and quality. The certification is an endorsement that the Center conforms to nationally and internationally-recognized service standards focused on enhancing the lives of children served.
Certification involved adherence to more than 300 standards and required extensive staff interviews and documentation review. CARF is an independent not-for-profit accrediting body that centers its accreditation process on enhancing the lives of persons served.
The Center’s accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation and is only awarded to organizations that show substantial fulfillment of standards established by CARF. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated that its programs and services are of the highest quality.
“This achievement is an indication of the Center’s dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the individuals we serve,” said CEO Marjorie Evans. “We’re very proud of our certification and the hard working staff who made it possible.”
For more than 35 years, Broward Children’s Center has been providing medical, educational, and advocacy services to infants, children, and young adults with special needs.
