CompCare Names New Administrator

POMPANO BEACH FL (3-4-07) – Cynthia Y. Palermo, an experienced skilled nursing facility professional has been named Administrator of the Children’s Comprehensive Care Center (CompCare).


As Administrator, Palermo will oversee operations of the CompCare facility, the only free standing pediatric skilled nursing facility in the Southeastern United States.


Palermo has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare administration, most recently serving as Executive Director of Regents Park of Sunrise in Sunrise, Florida. In her previous position Palermo was responsible for all operations of a 120-bed skilled nursing facility and 150-bed assisted living facility.


Palermo is a third generation administrator and is in her fourth term as Region 1 Vice President of the Florida Health Care Association (FHCA). She has also planned and assisted with the building of three skilled nursing facilities.

In 1995, Palermo was named Administrator of the Year by the FHCA and was elected Hero of the Hurricane by the Miami Herald and the Orange Bowl Committee in 1992 for her efforts during Hurricane Andrew. Palermo is also a former member of both the Health Council of South Florida’s Planning Advisory Committee and the American Health Care Association’s Non-Proprietary Committee.

For more than 35 years, Broward Children’s Center has been providing medical, educational, and advocacy services to infants, children, and young adults with special needs.
