Broward Children's Center's Therapy Department offers occupational,
physical and speech language therapy services from facilities in Pompano
Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Treatment is also provided to other Broward
Children's Center programs and to home and outpatient clients.
The clinics screen, evaluate and treat infants, preschoolers, school-age
children and adolescents with developmental delays in speech and
language, motor skills and daily living activities. Staffed by licensed
and certified / accredited therapists and therapy assistants, under the
direction of a director of therapy, the program ensures that all
disciplines work together to achieve the individual's goals.
Therapists collaborate on adaptive equipment, augmentative communication
systems, splinting, seating and mobility needs. Therapy staff has
extensive experience with technologically-dependent infants and
children. Staff also provides therapy to those with respiratory
difficulties, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, specific
language impairments, apraxia, muscular dystrophy and other primary
physical impairments.
